Limits of The VR Industry
The VR Industry is new by technology standards. It is the
main predecessor from video games. The main advantage of VR is a whole
immersive 3D experience whereas video games are 2D and at the end of the day
you know that you are looking at a screen.
One of the drawbacks that VR has of the moment is in general
the graphics are not as good as their video game counterparts. The main reason
for this is that it is easier to program something that you just look at;
screen as opposed to an immersive experience. Plus with a screen it is easier
to simulate a world where as with Immersive VR you would need a much larger
space to interact with.
This article even though it was written in 2015 is still
relevant today. The main take away is that in order for a computer to run a VR
game it has to be on average 7 times more powerful than it would otherwise need
to be playing a normal computer game.
Benefits of VR Training
Training is basically doing the same thing over and over
again. Like video games VR is a powerful tool for hand eye coordination. Because
with some VR games you are not necessarily using a controller. You are using
your eyes and a headset to do what you would otherwise be doing in real life.
This is even more so true of surgeons. There has been studies that surgeons who
use video games and VR for fun and for training do up to 30% better than
surgeons that do not play video games or VR.

Another undeniable
benefit of VR training is for drivers, especially driving simulators. Video
games in my opinion would be only slightly helpful because at the end of the
day you are pushing buttons on a controller. Whereas with VR and a simulator it
is as if you are driving and there is none of that if you crash you will die
mentality.
Another benefit of VR training is it is training in a very
promising job market and this will only be more so true in the future. Although
through technological and revolutionary shifts throughout history like the
industrial revolution, and the computer age some jobs are replaced by machines
a lot of jobs are created that didn’t exist before the technological change. Think
any job that requires a computer for example.

With VR now and in the future VR training could be used when
training otherwise could not be done.
Cost of VR training
Because VR is a new technology in general it is expensive.
This has always been the case with technology. Technology gets cheaper and less
expensive over time. But with the cost of VR training it is largely influenced
on what it is being used for.
For example, a pick packer could learn their job on site and
if they were doing a VR simulation of it. Not only would it not add anything
but it would be more expensive. The pick packer could be trained in real life
with next to no cost.
On the flip side though VR could be very cost effective for
certain types of training. For example drivers and especially younger drivers
and drivers with more difficulties, like those with disabilities. The amount of
money that could be saved by using VR as opposed to not using it could cost
society more in car related accidents,
deaths and insurance claims.
One of the wonderful things about VR training is it can be a
supplemental training. So the driver does real world driving but also does VR
training as well.
There is a level, which I view at the highest which only VR
training can be used for it or a very large part of the training and that is
pilots.
Because of the danger of flying an airplane the best way to
do it is to have the pilot in a VR or simulator. The amount of money that is
saved from planes not crashing is easily worth the amount the VR training
costs.
Dependent on the course teaching it via VR in instances
could be more cost effective. You don’t have to pay for the teachers, trainers,
some course material like books, etc. As well as it would be much easier to
reach people at large. There is also scope because of the digitization of the
VR to multiple or repeatedly roll out the course material with not that much
extra in terms of cost.

our audience
People want to know about the benefits and advantages of a
product, even more so if it is new. For starters people that would be most
interested in VR would be the primary target market gamers.
There could be a comparison of VR compared to video games.
As I brought up before about for gaming purposes the main problem is the
graphics difference, especially for the same game. But when the technological milestone
is passed where the average VR video game is better than a normal one then
gamers would be very interested in that.
There is also the matter of price and as it stands VR for
video games is more expensive than video games. However you could highlight the
games that are not available elsewhere and this would give it a more of an
exclusivity advantage.
People like up and comers in addition to businesses. A story
of where the company started from and where it is going and if the business becomes
more mainstream worldwide.
